Why correct dimensions matter on LinkedIn
LinkedIn is used professionally, so image quality matters more than on casual platforms. Correct dimensions prevent cropping in connection feeds and company pages.
LinkedIn image dimensions reference
Post Image: 1200 × 627 px — Cover Photo: 1584 × 396 px — Profile Photo: 400 × 400 px — Company Logo: 300 × 300 px. These are the current recommended sizes. Platform requirements occasionally change, so check the official LinkedIn help centre if you notice unexpected cropping after uploading.
Aspect ratio lock
When the lock icon is enabled, changing the width automatically updates the height proportionally (and vice versa). For platform presets the lock is disabled automatically since the preset dimensions have their own fixed ratio. Re-enable the lock if you need to scale uniformly from your own starting size.
Output format
The download is saved as a PNG, which is lossless and accepted everywhere. If you need a smaller JPEG for faster upload, use the Convert PNG to JPEG tool after resizing.
