Mirror Effect
Create perfect symmetry from any photo — mirror horizontally, vertically, or into a quad pattern. Free, no signup, no watermark.
How to Apply a Mirror Effect to a Photo
Pick Horizontal (left half reflected right), Vertical (top half reflected down), or Quad (top-left quadrant tiled symmetrically into all four corners). The result updates instantly.
Click Download to save your mirrored image as a PNG at the original pixel dimensions — no quality loss.
How the mirror effect works
The tool reads every pixel of your image using the browser canvas API and writes a new image where each pixel's source coordinates are remapped based on the chosen symmetry. For horizontal mirror, any pixel in the right half is sampled from its mirror position in the left half. For vertical mirror, pixels in the bottom half are sampled from the top half. For quad mirror, both axes are reflected simultaneously, so the top-left quadrant is replicated into all four quadrants — similar to a kaleidoscope or mandala effect. All processing is done entirely in your browser; no image data is ever sent to a server.
Common uses
Portrait symmetry art — mirror a face horizontally to reveal the uncanny symmetry of human features. Architectural photography — reflect buildings or interiors for dramatic geometric compositions. Abstract and mandala art — the quad mode transforms any texture or photo into a tile-like symmetrical pattern. Social media thumbnails — symmetrical images are visually striking and naturally draw the eye. Logo inspiration — mirroring a photo can spark ideas for balanced, symmetrical graphic designs.
