How color temperature adjustment works
The tool loads your image onto an HTML canvas and reads each pixel's RGB values directly. Dragging toward Warm boosts the red channel and reduces the blue channel proportionally — mimicking the golden light of a sunset or incandescent bulb. Dragging toward Cool does the opposite, boosting blue and reducing red to replicate the crisp tone of shade or overcast sky. Every pixel is adjusted independently so the effect scales evenly across highlights, midtones, and shadows. All processing happens in your browser; the image never reaches a server.
When to use color temperature adjustment
Portrait photography — warm up skin tones that look flat or cold under artificial light. Landscape shots — enhance the golden hour feel of a sunset, or lean into the cool drama of a winter scene. Product photos — correct a blue or orange cast introduced by mixed lighting. Social media content — give consistent warmth to a feed aesthetic, or add a cool, editorial tone to contrast a bright palette. Real estate photos — interior shots under fluorescent light often need warming to feel inviting; outdoor shots may benefit from a cooler, cleaner look.
