How to Round Image Corners Online

1Upload your image

Drag and drop or click to upload a JPG, PNG, or WEBP file. The default 10% radius is applied as soon as the image loads.

2Choose corner radius

Drag the slider from 0% (original sharp corners) to 50% (full circle). The radius is calculated as a percentage of the image's smaller dimension so it scales correctly for any image size.

3Download PNG

Click Download PNG to save the result. The corners are transparent, not filled — so it works on any background colour in your design.

How rounded corners are applied

The tool draws a clipping path on an HTML canvas using quadratic Bézier curves at each corner. The canvas is cleared to transparent first, then the clip path is applied, and the image is drawn inside it — only the area within the rounded rectangle is painted, leaving the corners fully transparent. The radius is capped at 50% of the shorter side, which produces a circle or ellipse depending on the image's aspect ratio.

When to use rounded corners

App icons and UI assets — iOS, Android, and web app icons require rounded corners; 20–25% radius matches the system icon grid. Profile photos — circular profile pictures (50% radius) are used across LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, and most social platforms. Product thumbnails — e-commerce product cards frequently use subtle rounding (5–10%) to match the card's CSS border-radius. Presentation slides — rounded-corner images look more polished in PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides layouts. Social media graphics — rounding adds a modern, clean look to images used in stories, carousels, and feed posts.
