How to Make a Passport Size Photo Online

Passport photo size requirements by country
India, UK, and EU (35×45mm) — The most common standard. Used for Indian passports, UK passports, Schengen visa applications, and most European national IDs. White or off-white background required. US passports (51×51mm / 2×2 inches) — Square format, white background only. Head must occupy 50–69% of the photo height. China (33×48mm) — Light blue background is standard for Chinese passport and visa applications. Canada (50×70mm) — Larger format, white background, no shadows.
Tips for a better passport photo
Use a plain wall or sheet as background if possible — it makes AI removal more accurate. Ensure good, even lighting with no harsh shadows on your face. Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression. Avoid glasses if the application allows, as they can cause glare issues. Wear clothes that contrast with the background colour you plan to use.
Printing your passport photos
